  • The grant is paid out at the end of the project against an approved final report containing a description of the project’s progress and its actualised finances (receipt copies attached).
  • TTE Fund can grant funding for the whole project or for specified parts of it. The funding must not be used for any other purpose than what it was granted for.
  • TTE Fund reserves the right to withdraw an awarded grant if the project’s execution or actualised finances turn out to differ considerably from what was presented in connection with the application. TTE Fund does not pay out grants to projects that have made a profit.
  • A grant awarded by TTE Fund expires if it has not been reported on or collected within 24 months of being awarded. However, for a justified reason, additional time may be added to this deadline.
  • If the funding has been used to produce a book, CD or similar product for sale, the grant recipient is obliged to deliver at least three (3) copies of the product to TTE Fund, who will in turn deliver them to the AYY archive.
  • In addition to these terms and conditions, TTE Fund may also stipulate special case-specific terms for a grant to fulfil the Fund’s purpose.

History

The Fund for the Promotion of Teekkari Operations was established in 2006 as part of the Student Union of the Helsinki University of Technology (TKY). The Fund’s initial capital was donated by the Association for the Promotion of Teekkari Operations (TTEY). The first application round took place in spring 2007, and the next one in the autumn of the same year. Since 2008, it has been possible to apply for grants from the Fund in the application rounds organised three times a year. A lighter application round was tried for the first time in 2010, in which small grants (200 € at most) could be applied for over a month’s period with a freely formatted application that was processed quickly.

In the beginning of 2010, TTE Fund in its entirety became a part of Aalto University Student Union (AYY). Since the beginning of that year, all AYY members as well as associations and communities operating in connection with it have been able to apply for grants from the Fund.  The purpose of the Fund is to support the goals of AYY members as well as to generate and maintain active interest in technological, scientific, financial, artistic and societal issues and cultural activities by awarding grants.

On 1 Jan 2010, TKY merged into Aalto University Student Union (AYY) together with the Student Union of the Helsinki School of Economics (KY) and the Student Union of the University of Art and Design Helsinki (TOKYO) at the same time as the three universities merged into Aalto University. TTEY also changed its name in spring 2010. These days, TTEY is known as PTK ry which, in addition to the TTE Fund appointments, deals with granting various Teekkari acknowledgements as well as maintaining and cherishing a number of Teekkari traditions.
